(let me know if you would like individual parts and i can make that happen!)

“quiet, serene, contained” is a work that i wrote in the midst of global lockdown, hoping to generate a space of reflection without much motion. the cycle of this piece rests on the slow ostinato of the cellos, adding and subtracting parts, shifting subtly in the upper register. dissonances undulate but are experienced with sustained clarity.

while i seek chances to activate devastation to the imperial core and its methods of sustaining coloniality, this is not the space for that. this music comes in the aftermath, where we might finally rest for a moment.

tracked layers recorded with myself on violin and viola, and my sibling (will rawlinson) on cello
